Now that January is here, it's time to face the dreaded question: what should you do with all those holiday cards? If you’re like me then you hate throwing those adorable cards in the garbage. At the same time, I hate to keep them because, let’s be honest, I’ll never look at them again and they will just become clutter. Here’s the solution I’ve come up with: take photos of the cards and store them in your phone contacts! So that every time your friend calls over the coming year, you get to see the image from their holiday card!
It's simple, fun and a great way to start getting organized in the new year.
Below are step-by-step instructions for saving holiday cards as contact photos on an iPhone. Enjoy!
1. Find the contact and select EDIT
For this example, I will be using our own 2015 holiday card, which has a photo of my son Benno on it. I created a contact entry for him (even though he doesn't really have an email address).
2. Click on ADD PHOTO
3. Choose TAKE PHOTO
4. Take a photo of the holiday card
Hover over the photo, centering on the person's face.
5. Move & scale the photo until you are happy. Click on USE PHOTO.
This may take a couple tries to get it just right.
6. Click DONE
Ta-da!
Now you have preserved those happy smiling faces without cluttering up your kitchen countertops. Well done!
